New Session FeesThe club are sorry to announce that we are going to have to increase the club session fees on Mondays and Fridays. They will rise by £1.00 as from 4th March, thus bringing the fees on all sessions into line, at £8.00. (Non-members £9.00.)
This is due to the Ice Centre increasing the charge to the club for hiring the ice pads. The club has not passed on increases for several years, although our charges have gone up each year. Note that there will be no change for skate hire or off-ice training. January 2016 News Letter
International speed skating competition in NottinghamNottingham is welcoming top international speed skaters this weekend (9th to 11th January 2016) when the National Ice Centre hosts an international competition.
Our British Olympic skaters will be in action and the event is open to the public on the Saturday and Sunday. So why not come along and watch an exciting weekend of racing with lots of spills and thrills! For tickets see how to get tickets
Records for Club at Star Class
Ben Roberts and Daniel Pickering from NIRC along with Niall from Mohawks and Solomon from Aldwych Speed Skating Club win their Junior C boys 3000m relay at the Torino Star Class event (Oct 23-25) and are ranked 3rd overall. They beat teams from Germany, and the Netherlands in a time of 4 mins 46.481 seconds, a new British record time for Junior C boys. The competition has seen a number of personal bests for Nottingham skaters, Ben in the 500m, 49.375s; Daniel in the 500m and 1000m, 50.288s and 1min 44.883s respectively and Isaac Raizada in the 500m and 777m, 55.057s and 1min 29.493s respectively.
